Yesterday & Today

The Chartreuse du Liget in Music

the new musical meeting place in South Touraine

Under the impetus of the Adour association, in the heart of rural Loch, a new festival Hier & Aujourd'hui was born in July 2021.
The festival is unique in its programming of music from the classical and contemporary repertoires and creative music. The association is fertile; one opens the doors to the other.

Excellence and passion for sound unite the guest artists.

The anchoring of this new annual summer festival at the Chartreuse du Liget is an opportunity for the music and the artists who perform it, for the public, for the heritage, and finally the promise of an additional dynamic for the region.

The Chartreuse du Liget is a former Carthusian monastery in the heart of South Touraine. Founded at the end of the 12th century by Henri II Plantagenet, King of England and Count of Anjou, it is the only Carthusian monastery present in Touraine. As is the Carthusian rule, La Chartreuse consists of a high house in Liget and a low house in Corroirie. The whole of Liget also has an isolated chapel in a clearing in the forest of Loches, where the first monks who founded the hermitage settled.
